The Challenge
Create a memorable televised commercial for an innovative product that speaks to the target audience. The client was patient and wanted to invest in memory building; they knew long term investments would pay off if the commercial was good enough.
Since the ad would airing in places where sports were watched in public—bars, restaurants, and golf resorts—the commercial needed to effectively market without sound.
The best way to handle the challenge was to show instead of tell. We created a commercial that showed a serious golfer working on his game from inside his home, conveying one of SkyTrak’s key selling points: work on your game anytime, anywhere.
Graphics stylized in the SkyTrak branding accompany the live-action video offering supportive copy and animation. This way the product’s features can be easily understood even without voiceover.
In addition, the setting and story of the commercial display another key selling point: “golf widows” no longer have to lose their husband to the course every weekend. Now he can practice his craft from inside of the home saving time and expenses (and maybe a few marriages) in the process.

The Result
The SkyTrak commercial ran from 2017 to 2024. Aired intermittently to avoid fatigue, it was a recurring advertisement on ESPN, the Golf Channel, and NBC. In addition, the SkyTrak commercial performed quite well in earned media. Countless golf pro shops used the commercial in their social media and YouTube channels to sell SkyTrak.
In fact, SkyTrak is the #1 selling launch monitor in the world.
